Boyle town has some of the best facilities in the area, state of the art schools, caring facilities and new housing developments. A wide range of Music, Sport and Youth Projects are hosted in the town. The town has its own dedicated Marching Band.

Three festivals take place in the town every year and another three in the surrounding areas.

The town grew up around Boyle Abbey (12th Century) which visitors may visit during the summer.

King House a former home of a landlord family has been restored and houses an interpretative centre and a well stocked public Library. 

Lough Key Forest Park can be viewed all year round and visitors can enjoy the spectacular scenery and panoramic beauty that is preserved and protected in  the park.
